The correct answer is:
C

It is given that

n A = Unknown frequency = ?

n B = Known frequency = 256 Hz

x = 3 bps, which remains same after loading

Unknown tuning fork A is loaded so n A ↓ ↓

Hence n A ↓ ↓ – n B = x ... (i) Correct

n B – n A ↓ ↓ = x ... (ii) Wrong

⇒ ⇒ n A = n B + x = 256 + 3 = 259 Hz.
